It is said that 21^st century is a digital computer world where everyone can get access to technology. We can view, hear, write and learn about the world with the help of technologies. We are grateful for the development of technologies that are made available to us.

We have learnt about the topic on using ICT as an informative tool, where we learnt that we can use computers to teach and learn. Computers play different roles depending on our needs. Every child is known as digital natives in this digital era. They are the computer generation; digital facilities are made available to them. The traditional way of teaching and learning which has existed for many decades where teacher was the only source of information is now replaced by ICT integration. This helps us in catering to the diverse needs of our students.

                          

   

Now I knew that ICT plays an important role in being used as a tool or giving access to instructional materials. Informative tool are applications which provides huge amount of information in various formats (text, image, sound, videos, etc.) Students can receive information on a particular topic through different means based on their choice. For example; a student can read a text or information online, listen to an audio on the topic, look at the image and make meanings out of it or watch a video lesson on different sites. There are many benefits while using ICT as an informative tool like, we can provide raw materials to organize recognize and expand their knowledge and skills.

After the discussion on informative tools with my tutor and friends, I came to know that this tool helps the teacher to provide and create a learning classroom very effective and conducive. It creates a space for the students to learn by themselves inside and outside classroom. It is a tool whereby the learner gets to learn independently, think critically, activate their knowledge, and develop research skills and learn to integrate relevant information. We have also learnt how to integrate computers as informative tools that will foster our learner’s level of understanding and may help in comprehending the text better than the normal classroom teaching.
